If you don’t already know, Cannabidiol, popularly called CBD is a naturally-occurring compound of the cannabis sativa plants (hemp and marijuana). It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. CBD oil is extracted from these plants in the pure isolate form or full spectrum.

Full spectrum CBD is processed from hemp and contains terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN, THCV and trace amounts of THC.

CBD oil with terpenes promises long-lasting relief from pain through a slow release of the compound as your food digests. Whether in its isolate or full spectrum form, CBD oil can be ingested as a possible remedy for many ailments.

How long does it take for CBD oil to work?

Well, in most cases it takes about an hour to feel the effects of CBD oil after you ingest it. But you may start feeling the effects of CBD oil in as little as 20 minutes on an empty stomach. The more food you’ve eaten before consuming CBD oil, the longer the effects will take to kick in.

Does CBD show up on a drug test?

Most drug tests do not check for CBD, so it is unlikely that CBD will show up in a drug test looking for THC. Besides, when you ingest CBD your body metabolizes it so it can’t be detected. So it is unlikely that pure CBD will be detected in an employment drug test.

However, if you use full spectrum CBD oil depending on some factors – including quantity and frequency of use, it is possible that trace amounts of THC could be detected in a drug test.

Does CBD show up on a blood test?

Typically a blood test is done to show any toxins in your blood. These type of tests are usually only conducted for medical reasons or after accidents and crimes. A blood test that checks for CBD will find it.

Does CBD show up on a urine test?

Urine tests are most commonly used for employment. It is unlikely that CBD would show up in this test as they are designed to look for THC, Cocaine, Meth, and other abused drugs. The only way you could fail a urine test with CBD is if you were taking enormous amounts of it daily over a prolonged period.
